Why does my dog get big bumps after laying outside in the sun?

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 4 years and 6 months old | 100 lbs

My dog likes laying outside in the sun for a bit each day and around sunset. Usually around sunset when she comes in shes been cover in big round bumps. What are these?

They look like hives. She likely was bite by a bug and is experiencing an allergic reaction. I recommend you have her seen by your veterinarian to examine the areas and determine if medications are needed if the hives last longer than 2 hours or if you notice vomiting, diarrhea, facial swelling, or worsening hives.
