How can I help my cockatiel heal his foot if he got hurt in his cage?

You should wrap the perches with some soft material so it is easier for him to perch, if the foot is not badly hurt it will heal within several days, if it is badly hurt you need to take him to an avian vet specialist to get it treated.

Keeping the foot and wound clean and dry and keeping Jewel from picking at it are best. You may want to place an Elizabethan (cone) collar on her (Google has tutorials on how to make bird sized ones) as well as provide some flat, low perches that are easier for her to stand on while she heals. If the bleeding continues, she is in a lot of pain, the wound is large, or it appears to be infected, vet care in person is best to have it cleaned, treated, and medications given.

Thanks for reaching out about Sunshine and including photos. It does appears as if there is a bruise on the foot. A veterinary visit is recommended to assess and determine the damage. Soft tissue trauma can improved with pain medications, but a fractures should be stabilized. Make an appointment with a veterinarian. Good luck.
