My dog has skin spots and an open sore. How to treat without vet bill?

My dog has some spots on her legs and chest and now has an open sore on her head that looks very bad. I don't want to pay a vet bill

These look like hot spot areas that are often caused by some sort of trauma to the skin or fleas. I would suggest a high quality flea preventative such as Nexgard, Comfortis, Simparica or you can try OTC Advantix. However the hot spot areas may need a vet visit to resolve. You can try an over the counter hot spot spray from your local pet store.
