As long as he has normal bloodwork and doesn't have any underlying issues like liver disease or heart disease, then I don't see why he can't get a dental cleaning, scaling and polishing done through your vet. Schedule an appt for Torque to get his teeth evaluated first and also to get a quote for his dental cleaning +/- any foreseen extractions, if any.
