Why is my dog rubbing her red eyes? Is it soap or an allergy?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Schnauzer | Female | unspayed | 11 months and 10 days old | 6 lbs

I noticed my dog has been rubbing her eyes and now she has redness around the outside of her eyes. I dont know if this is from a recent bath soap change or what this can be. She doesnt have any discharge. I noticed one bump coose to her ducts but i think its from rubbing so much

She may have an infection in the skin around her eyes secondary to an allergy. The eye itself is clear and open and that is the important part! there are no safe topical diver the counter because of how close it is to her eye. Your vet can prescribe some topical medications safe for the eyes.
