My dog has a red bump growing on the back of his paw. He's an outdoor dog so Is it a tumor or just an allergic reaction?

Unfortunately it is impossible to tell what is going on with Hershey by the picture alone. Given her young age, I would suspect she may have a histiocytoma, which is a benign inflammatory tumor that generally goes away within a month. However, the only way to know what is going on is to take her in to your vet for an exam. She likely needs to have a fine needle aspirate done of the lump. This is when we take a small needle and try to exfoliate some cells from the area to look at them under the microscope to determine what it is. She also could have an allergic reaction, from an insect bite, or possibly even a tumor that is of concern and needs to be removed. I would recommend you take her into have the area examined to determine if she needs to have further treatment or not.
