My cat has ticks. Vet says no bath. How to remove ticks safely?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | 2 months and 4 days old | 1.109 lbs

My cat has ticks and the vet says don't give her a bath for a month and have prescribed medicines and a lotion and have advised to pull out ticks as much possible manually. I feel like giving her a shower and removing ticks. Please advice what to do?

I would recommend sticking to the advice your vet gave you about holding off on bathing the cat. Some tick shampoos may not be safe for cats and may make the medication he prescribed ineffective. Sorry, I know it's frustrating but hopefully the problem will be under control very soon. Good luck!
