Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed | 8 months old | 4.5 lbs

hi my female rabbit who is 8 months old gave birth to 5 rabbits 22 days ago. the male was spayed before the female gave birth. she stopped pulling out her fur when the rabbits were about 5 days old. she began pulling fur out again a couple of weeks ago for only a day then stopped again, but she has just began pulling it out again but this time she kept it in her mouth and i pulled it out not knowing what it was. is she having a fake pregnancy or what is going on?

It is very possible that she is having a false pregnancy as you have already suggested. This process is called psuedocyesis and is very common in rabbits shortly after their pregnancy has completed. Unless you are seeing other signs of illness or she persists with this behavior for several more days, I would not seek veterinary attention at this time. Continue to make sure she is eating and drinking normal amounts and that her bowel movements look an appropriate consistency. There is a drug available to stop false pregnancies, but this is not something I would suggest using at this time. Hope this helps!
