Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 9 months and 24 days old | 50 lbs

My female dog is almost a year old and is 3/4 American pitbull terrier and 1/4 dogo argentino she has had bad skin fungus since about the second or third month of her life and has been to 4 vet appointments concerning her skin fungus she has been prescribed many antibiotics and topical spray. What else can or should I do that can help prevent and get rid of her skin condition as it has yet to go away?

If you and Savage have gone through that many rounds of treatment at such a young age, I would consider getting more aggressive with the diagnostics and treatments to get to bottom of the problem You should consult your regular vet to see what testing they can perform at their clinic before you get referred to a dermatologist specialist. They can take skin scrapings or do a skin biopsy or start allergy testing to find the underlying cause of her problems.
