My dog has a tick-like growth, but he's on flea/tick meds. Vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 35 lbs

I have found what looks like a tick on my 10 year old corgi-lab, but he is up-to-date on his tick/flea meds. I also tried to remove it, and it did not budge. Any idea of what this could be? Does he need to go to the vet? Thank you for any advise!!

Thank you for providing a picture of this area on Bosco! It could be that it's a skin tag, a type of benign tumor, and that's why it cannot be removed. It could also be a tick that is embedded, and I would not try to remove it again. It would be a good idea to have him seen by a vet for it, so it can be diagnosed and treated as needed.
