Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Male | neutered | 11 months and 24 days old
Hi! I have recently asked a question regarding a small wound-like hall that I found on dog's forehead. Two days passed since I last posted a question here. What looked like a round scab fell off and the hole is a bit red, but not inflamed. I am a bit concerned about the hall because does not seem to go away. I am worried that it might be Cuterebara Infestation, although I know it is not very likely.

This doesn't appear to be severely swollen enough to house a cuterebra; however the picture can only tell so much detail of this area. However if a scab was originally there then chances are this is just an old puncture wound that is trying to heal. I wouldn't put any ointment on this, just make sure the area stays clean. Topical Betadine diluted 50:50 with warm water can be used to antiseptically clean the area as needed. Keep an eye on it for the next few days as most wounds take 7-10 days total or heal. If it starts draining, starts smelling, appears swollen, or bothers Archie then it's best to get it looked at by your local vet at that time. Otherwise this may just be on its way to healing completely now that the scab is gone. I hope everything works out well for your pet Archie. Take care.

If this hole on Archie isn't healing, then I would have him seen by a vet. A Cuterebara could be a possibility, but he could also have a foreign body such as a grass seed or foxtail causing the hole and preventing it from healing. This is something that would best be examined by a vet, and I would bring Archie into one today or tomorrow.
