Why is my cat losing hair in red patches? Should I be worried?

Hi. Recently my cat has been loosing hair in a patch. No blood but it's very red. It will dry up but then it become red. Just this week it became 3 areas. She is not irritated. Is this normal shedding or should i be alarmed? Thanks. Pet's info: Cat | Himalayan | Female | unspayed | 1 year old

It doesn't look like normal shedding, the skin underneath is definitely abnormally red which indicates there is probably an inflammation process going on. it could be fleas, mites, yeast or a bacterial infection, you should start by treating her for fleas and see if it helps first.
