My 13-week boxer puppy hasn't pooped. Is Miralax safe for him?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | 5 months and 11 days old | 35 lbs

My 13 week old boxer hasn't gone to poop in the past 24 hours. This is very unusual since he goes twice a day. I do have Miralax and if I give it to him, how long will it take to make him go?

No, please do not give Bruiser Miralax. It is never safe nor recommended to give puppies human medications, especially if you don't know the cause of his not passing feces. You could accidentally cause him great harm by doing this. I would take Bruiser into the vet. The vet can diagnose the cause of his symptoms, which can include intestinal worms, dehydration, or intestinal obstruction among many other causes, and can prescribe treatment for him.
