My dog ate prosciutto. Is it dangerous? Should I call the vet?

My 25-pound Labradoodle just ate about a pound of prosciutto. Do you think I should take him to the vet or just wait for it to pass? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 25 lbs

The concerning thing about prosciutto is the amount of fat in it, which can cause pancreatitis in dogs. Pancreatitis is a life threatening inflammation of the pancreas, and requires intensive veterinary treatment when an animal is affected by it. I would take Scotty into the vet, especially if he is vomiting, appears lethargic, and/or anorexic.
