Are dog treats safe after being left in a hot car for hours?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 8 years and 5 months old | 4 lbs

I left my bag in the car & her favorite treats are in them. It's really hot outside too, almost 90 degrees. I'd been almost 2 hours in the car plus my mom left in the car so it'll be longer. Will it be safe to still give them to her or should I throw them out?

I would recommend contacting the manufacturer of the treat. They will have first-hand knowledge of what is in the treats and how stable it is under those conditions. If you are not sure if the treats are safe then I would not feed them to your dog.
