My dog has a cloudy eye and discharge after spay. What to do?

Pet's info: Dog | Cavalier King Charles Spaniel | Female | spayed | 9 years and 2 months old | 10 lbs

My King Charles spaniel is 7 days post hysterectomy. She has a hood on. She developed a discharge from eye. When hood off under supervision she was rubbing and scratching eye of mat. Now she had a cloud on one of pupils with small discharge. She just finished antibiotics today. What should I do ?

Poor Issy! From your description, I would be most concerned that Issy has developed a corneal ulcer that caused her eye discharge and eye rubbing/scratching. The cloudy area on the eye could be the area of ulceration. At this point, the best thing you can do for Issy is to take her back to the vet for further evaluation because corneal ulcers can progress fairly rapidly. Be sure to keep her e-collar (cone/hood) on until her vet appointment to prevent her from rubbing or scratching the eye further. I hope that all goes well!
