Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed
I have a cat who is FIV+. Because of that, it is recommended to have her be the only cat in the household. However, the city I am is desperately overflowing with cats to adopt. Would it be safe to adopt another cat that is FIV+? (So that way they wouldn't infect each other?)

It would be safe to adopt another FIV+ cat. The risk of transmission of FIV is relatively low between cats that are friendly but the safest route would be to find another positive cat. If you decide to adopt another cat make sure to introduce the cats slowly and ensure you have adequate resources for both cats. This is a great source for introducing a new cat into your household: https://icatcare.org/advice/how-introduce-kitten-cat

Do you understand that any cat you adopt will be at risk for getting FIV no matter what. Many cats do you live in FIV mixed households and never test positive for the disease but it is always a risk. You may look for another cat who already has FIV which there are plenty who need homes. This may be the best solution. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
