How do I trim my neglected poodle's severely overgrown, twisted nails?

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Poodle | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 3 months old | 4 lbs

My minature poodle came from a neglected home,while I was trimming her paws I thought thier was fleas in a ball VB but it's dog nails all over,they are coming up everywhere I seem to trim help!!I have pictures

Hi. Your picture didn't come up. Try resubmitting with pictures if you think it'll help. But I'm guessing from what your saying is Noah's nails are severely overgrown and possibly twisted around under his feet. If that is the case sometimes the least stressful thing is a veterinary visit for sedation to trim the nails since it is likely to be painful and sometimes they are grown into the pads requiring cleaning and antibiotics.
