Is my old hamster cage safe from wet tail for my new hamster?

My hamster, Bernice, passed away about a month ago from wet tail. I recently got a new hamster, Sebastian, and I prepped the old cage by soaking it in extremely hot water for about 2 hours. Did I clean the cage properly? Will Sebastian get wet tail? Pet's info: Other | Unknown - Other | Male

Wet tail is usually not highly contagious, it sounds as you cleaned the cage very well, he should not get wet tail from the cage. make sure you do not feed him many treats and sugary fruits as this can be the cause of wet tail in hamsters.
