My pug has fresh blood in his fur after grooming, what should I do?

My pug has some fresh blood that's seeped halfway through his fur. Saw it while grooming him. It's not running but seems fresh.

It looks like there is some mild irritation in the area in the pictures. I would try to keep it clean with a damp cloth and monitor him. If he starts to scratch or bite at it or you notice more blood or discharge I would take him to the vet to be evaluated.
