Greyhound gracilis injury: How long until he can race again?

Hi I've a 22 month greyhound an his after doing damage to his right hind muscle the muscle has dropped known as gracilis I'm told just wondering what will it take to get him back racing thanks. Pet's info: Dog | Greyhound | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 10 months old | 70 lbs
