My cat bit her tongue, now it's curved. Will it heal normally?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 9 months and 25 days old | 11 lbs

Hello, my cat was fell and got into a neighbor's apartment, I was worried she got her leg sprined or internal injury. She was not eating nor drinking and the weather is very very hot. I took her to my vet, the only big problem is she bites her tongue when she fel( didn't bleed)l, my vet is keeping her for a day to treat the wound and dehydration. Her tongue tip is curved in, is that will recover to normal or it will be permanent? What's the average heeling time for this kind injury?

I'm so sorry to hear if Miss Meow's accident! I'm glad you were able to take her in to be evaluated and treated. Without seeing a picture of the wound it is difficult to say how much, if any, deformity will remain in the long run. The tongue is a very rapidly healing organ though and I suspect that after a few days Meow will be feeling back to her old self again. You may need to offer her soft/canned foods for a week or so and your vet will likely prescribe some pain medications and antibiotics.
