Why does my dog have black flaky ear skin and scabs on his legs?

Hello there is black flakey skin on my dogs ear and has some light scabs on the back of his legs he is nine years old he's a lurcher he used to hunt but is retired 1 year and Is no longer hunting I'd appreciate help thanks in advance. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 9 years and 5 months old | 40 lbs

It looks like your dog could have a bacterial and/or a yeast infection. Have him examined by a vet for treatment. Your vet can prescribe medications to help. Your vet could also test his thyroid level to make sure he doesn't have a thyroid issue. You could also bathe him with a medicated dog shampoo and see if that helps.
