My chihuahua has a craty circular spot on her back and it looks darker than her skin. Should i worry? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 3 lbs

I would recommend an examination by your vet. Darkened areas of skin can result from inflammation of the skin and this could be due to a fungus such as ringworm, a bacterial infection, or we can see skin tumors/growths in dogs as well. Your vet can examine the skin/fur and may recommend a ringworm culture, a skin cytology test to look for bacteria or yeast, or other testing depending on the appearance.
