What caused my Dachshund's sudden immobility and hunched back?

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Male | neutered | 10 years and 1 month old | 16 lbs

Dodson started acting funny..walking slow..hunched back..e.r. vet said epilepsy..gave phenobarbitrol..took to reg vet and said he was not epileptic...kept overnite bright home next day...dog was back to normal them woke up next day totally imobile..vet had no answers..waited 3 days for improvement and put him to sleep...what was he most likely suffering from?

Sorry for your loss. Without a full physical and neurological exam it is impossible to provide a diagnosis. Dachshund breeds are very prone to spinal disk disease which can cause pain, reduced mobility and paralysis as well as numerous other clinical signs depending on which nerves are being pinched and this would be a distinct possibility but could not be confirmed without a post mortem exam
