Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Female | unspayed | 40 lbs
Our puppy just died from what we suspect was parvo. It happened suddenly, and by the time we realized what was happening, it was to late to get her to the vet. I'm concerned about our other dog, she's 5 and hasn't been vaccinated because she's an inside dog and I stupidly just didn't think she needed to get shots because she never goes outside a lot and is never around other animals. Is it too late to vaccinate her and what can I do to get rid of the virus in the house now?

Im so sorry for your loss. I would recommend getting Zowie vaccinated asap. She may have been exposed but vaccination may stimulate her immune system. Parvo can live in the soil for years so if that was the case be aware that any future puppies could be at risk. Your pup may have also had intestinal parasites or another disease. I recomend Zowie getting a full check up and parasite exam as well as vaccines to be safe. Clorox will kill parvo virus on hard surfaces. So mopping tile floors or cleaning dog kennels with Clorox helps. Here's an article with more about disinfecting. http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=579 I'm sorry about your pup and I hope Zowie stays healthy.
