My bulldog is hyperventilating and uncomfortable. Is it serious?

My English bulldog has been hyperventilating and seems to be uncomfortable. He won't lay down for very long before getting up & doesn't seem like himself. He just came back home from being dog sat. He is also moaning a little when he tries to get comfortable. I'm wondering if this is stress related & if there is anything we have at home that can get him more comfortable? Pet's info: Dog | Bulldog | Male | neutered | 8 years and 11 months old | 50 lbs

I would take him to the vet immediately. What you are describing sounds like an emergency. He could have bloat (where his stomach flips) or an issue with his heart and lungs. Since he is painful and uncomfortable it most likely is a serious issue not just stress.
