Is it safe if my cat licks areas treated for fleas with pesticide?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 10 lbs

My house was treated this morning by terminix for fleas. I boarded my cats for 5 hours afterwards. We are now home and after walking around the house a little my cats are now bathing and licking. Should I be worried if they lick an area that came in contact with the pesticide?

As long as the pesticide was completely dried, and you wait the recommended amount of time before entering the house again, your cats should be fine and there should be minimal to no risk of them getting pesticide on their fur :-)
