Why are my dog's pink chin bumps turning black and not going away?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 50 lbs

My dog has two pink bumps on her chin that are getting almost like black in color. She also has two starting on her jowls. The one picture of chin is a week apart. Any idea what this is? Doesn't seem to be going away.

These could be harmless skin growths like adenoma/warts. They could also be cysts(again usually not harmful) as well as infected glands. Sometimes monitoring them and watching for any change in their color, size, or any discharge from them is ok. If they have any of those changes then Millie would need to be seen by a veterinarian. I would not recommend applying any topical ointment to them at this time.
