Why is my cat's eye swollen, leaking, and looks like a black marble?

Pet's info: Cat | British Shorthair | Male | neutered | 14 years and 8 months old

Can not take my cat out for many reason and finance to the vet can not. He has never been around other animals indoor only and he does have a temper. No camera no cell phone camera and using my friend computer. one eye look like a big black marble and the eye stay close for days at times and leaking the last couple of months getting worst, sometime it is open but not good. They other eye is normal What can I do, beside wipe with warm cloth what is wrong with his left eye please help thank you.

This sounds like a serious eye condition, it could be glaucoma or uveitis causing the eye to swell. It can be incredibly painful and there are no home treatments. You need to find a way to get him to the vet.
