My kitten fell. Is rapid breathing and fast belly movement serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 3.1 lbs

My kitten had a fall and ever since he's started to have rapid breathing. I can see his belly moving very fast when he is sleeping or resting. Will this go away or is it something serious.? He is not panting and is still very active.

Poor Simba! There is a chance he has damaged something when he fell. For example he could have broken a rib or caused a rupture in a lung or diaphragm. It may just be that he's in a bit of pain from being bruised. However I would go to the vet to have an exam just because it could be something serious.
