My dog has spreading, seeping bumps on his snout. Is it an emergency?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labradoodle | Male | neutered | 2 years and 5 months old | 50 lbs

My dog started out with two small bumps two days ago. I just got home from being at the hospital with my son and now it's spread! The nearest emergency vet office is over an hour away. Is this an emergency? I just brought my disabled son home and have him comfortable. I'll take the dog but hoping not to have to drag my sick son out again. These raised seeping bumps are on the side of his snout.

Hi. I'm so sorry about Leo, and your son. Unfortunately, these look pretty severe, and if they are coming up quickly, it could be some kind of allergic reaction. But they look possibly infected as well. Therefore, the best thing would be to get her in. If that isn't possible until morning, you can try benadryl 50mg by mouth.
