Is it normal for my bird's crop to get big and then get small again?

My sparrow crop keeps getting big but then after awhile it's small again ...what are the causes for that? Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Female | unspayed

A bird's crop will naturally disyend when the bird eats or drinks, it goes down as the contents move into the proventricularis. The time to worry is if the crop stays large, this would indicate infection or impaction of the crop.
