Hi there! Is it possible for an 8 year old chocolate lab to recover from BAYLISASCARIASIS (raccoon round worm) when she has already showed symptoms? She has not been treated yet.

Baylisascaris usually causes signs similar to other roundworms and can be treated with typical deworming medications. In some cases the worms can migrate into organs like the brain or liver, and treatment in those cases would be more supportive and the chances of recovery dependent on how much organ damage is present.
