My cat is suddenly vomiting, has diarrhea, and rapid breathing. Why?

Our cat was health day before yesterday. Suddenly she started vomiting and having diarrhea odd mowing and rapid breathing. Oddly last summer we had another cat do this.

This could indicate a toxin exposure, an infection or allergy. If Peek-a-boo is still abnormal she needs to be seen by a veterinarian. An exam may show what's causing her signs but she may need bloodwork or other tests.

poisoning is only one possibility, it could also be a foreign body ingestion, a severe gastrointestinal infection or pancreatitis for example. you must take Loki to the vet urgently in order to get it checked and treated .

It still may be the food. Any sudden changes in diet can upset their stomachs. I would recommend having her checked by a vet to make sure there is no infection and she does not get dehydrated. If there is no more vomiting or diarrhea tonight you can wait to have your regular check her, but if it continues or you notice blood in stool then you should get her seen as an emergency

I found a cat on the side of the road. The cat is vomiting, has diarrhea, and difficultly breathing(making sounds while breathing too), and wheezing. She is eating and drinking. Pooping and peeing as well.
Poor kitty. This kitty could have an infection (viral or bacterial) or intestinal parasites. She should be dewormed (i.e. fenbendazole), fecal testing, examined by your vet, and then treated based on what is found. The wheezing indicates that an upper respiratory infections is most likely present as well, in which oral antibiotics are needed to clear. You can give Kiwi Lysine supplements (from your local pet store) to help boost her immune system and fight off viral infections; use a humidifier or place her in a bathroom with the hot water running to help clear up clogged nasal passages; and feed her high quality kitten food (Royal Canin, Wellness, Blue Buffalo, etc) for overall health.

Vomiting and diarrhea can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, food sensitivity, foreign body ingestion and obstruction or other conditions such as pancreatitis or kidney disease. If this continues, I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. My female persian cat Sia aged 1.5 years suddenly puked clear yellowish brown 4 times within a range of 4 hours or so. She also had loose motion. Can you please help with best steps? I am attaching a photo of the vomit.
It sounds as Sia is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

Hello, sorry to hear about Pinky. She may be sick from an infectious organism such as a parasite or a virus. The other potential cause may be associated with ingestion of a foreign material such as string. If the vomiting and diarrhea continue, Pinky should be evaluated by your veterinarian soon. BowBow sounds extremely sick, and it's a medical emergency that she is refusing water and food. It may be she has a pyometra, which is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment. It could also be she got into something toxic. This cannot be treated at home, she has to see a vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Oh no, poor Toffee! She sounds quite sick at the moment, and her vomiting and diarrhea could be caused by a GI illness, eating something rotten or toxic, a foreign body, or pancreatitis. I see that she isn't spayed, and her symptoms could also be caused a pyometra, which is a life threatening infection of the uterus. When a cat is having both diarrhea and vomiting, it's time to see a vet immediately to prevent her from getting severely dehydrated and sicker. This sign could be compatible with an upper respiratory tract inflammation/infection or eventually to a more wide spread infection (systemic). Usually viral infections and secondary bacterial ones are the cause of these signs. It sound slike Kela has a lot going on. I would recommend taking her to a vet due to the range of her current issues. If she is vomiting and having diarrhea she could become dehydrated. I would recommend having her examined to make sure she does not have an infection, virus or even parasites. I hope she feels better soon
