My senior pug holds urine then leaks. Is it a bladder problem?

Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Female | spayed | 14 years and 10 months old | 22 lbs

"Can you tell me what is happening my female pug is retaining urine for a long time before she urinates and when she does it is a lot she will be walking away and still urinating and cant hold it cuz she is so full..she had anal infection a year ago were this happened a few times then we took her into the vets they didn't find any problems...She was on a medication for a month plus in order recover. This problem has happened 3 or 4 times but only like one time per incidence. Today had been 2x's

Older pets can have issues with bladder control due to neurologic problems. If Cheyenne is retaining urine at times and leaking after urinating, she likely does not have good bladder control. I would recommend that she is seen by your veterinarian as soon as possible. Retaining and/or leaking urine puts Cheyenne at an increased risk for urinary tract infections. Left untreated these issues can lead to permanent damage to the bladder and kidneys.
