My Basset has an unchanged skin spot. Is it hair loss? Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Basset Hound | Female | spayed | 37 lbs

I noticed this spot on my basset about a week ago and she still has it, unchanged. She has acted fine until today. Can you tell if I should be worried? Thanks!

What a cute name for Basset Hound! I see the spot you mentioned on the pictures provided. It looks like a small area of hair loss. Hair loss can occur at the site of an injury or previous inflammation. If the area of hair loss enlarges or becomes red or if Dixie begins scratching at the area, I would recommend that she is seen by your veterinarian.
