Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 7 years and 10 months old | 11 lbs
My cat has nutritional secondary hyperparathyroidism complete with splay-legged posterior, fragile frame, agitation, popping joints, etc. We're not in a position to pursue surgery for him, but I can start at the ground floor and change his diet to see if that helps make a difference. What diet / food would be best to start helping him feel at least a little better?

Any commercial cat food should have the appropriate amount of calcium and calcium:phosphorous ratio to result in remineralization of the bone. This will not correct any limb deformity or fractures but should prevent these problems in the future. Veterinarians often recommend restricting activity to give the bones time to mineralize, but this often happens quickly ( within a month or so).
