Can an adult Golden Retriever live in a small home? Monthly cost?

Hi. My dad is planning of adopting an adult Golden Ret. The dog will be left for 4 hours alone daily, will get regular exercise, outdoor, grooming, etc all, but dad lives in a house of just 2 rooms. Should he get one? He doesn't mind drooling, shedding stuff. Also can u tell how much will that adult golden cost monthly? Thnxx :) :)

As long as you stick with the plan of regular exercise and care that living situation should be fine. The monthly cost varies depending on what brand of food you decide, heartworm/flea/tick medication, and other miscellaneous items (toys, treats, etc).
