There are so many commercially made dog treats it is impossible to keep up with them all! Any treat can potentially cause an upset stomach in a dog because it is a change from their normal diet. Some treats have more calories and fat in them than others and some dogs are more sensitive than others to that kind of variation in their diet. I typically recommend using the dog's regular dog food as treats between meals, because then you don't have to worry about a change in food making the dog sick. I especially recommend this for puppies because frequently people are giving a lot of treats as a reward when they are doing training. Too many treats can cause a stomach upset just like a person eating too many cookies. You shouldn't see this if you are using your Vaquero's regular dog food. If you do decide to try a commercial dog treat, I would stick to one or two, use them sparingly, and monitor your puppy for any vomiting or change in stool that would indicate that the treat is upsetting your dogs stomach. Vaquero is a great name, by the way!
