Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 3 years old | 20 lbs
My dog , Jack Russell cross, has a green nasal discharge from right side of nose, most noticeable on night bedding, smells a little and he sneezes if excited, or temperature changes outside etc. He was tested for klebsiella pneumonia and given Enrofloxacina antibiotics but course was interrupted, for four days, they made him sick, and although after taking a gastro mix was better, nose got better but has now returned. Any suggestions as to what next?

If the nasal discharge continues, especially only on one side, I would be concerned about a possible foreign body in his sinus cavity or even something like cancer. The next step if not already done would be lab test, potential he a CT scan of his skull or/and even a rhinoscopy where we put a camera up his nose to examine for anything. Your veterinarian can determine with you which of those steps would be best suited are even available in your area.

There are a few different possibilities with one-sided infections and bleeding. This could be due to a fungal infection like blastomycosis. It could be due to a foreign material stuck in the nose, or could be due to a tumor or cyst in the nose. In order to find out the cause, we usually need to have a good scope of the nose and/or imaging (radiographs and CT scan). I hope that helps and your veterinarian gives you some good options for discovering the cause of this sometime soon.
