My dog's neck and chest skin turned black. Should I be worried?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 2 months old | 10 lbs

Hi I have a white cross pavement dog who some what seems to be Maltese. He is 5 years old. While giving him a bath I have notice that his skin colour around his neck and below is black. This concerns me as it has never been this way before. He lives in my home and is always inside the house. Please advise. Regards Reggie

If Cuddles does not appear to be itchy, losing fur, have dry/crusty skin then this may be a normal change in the pigment of the skin. Sometimes that happens as pets get older. Other things can also make the skin change color like chronic allergies. When in doubt, take him to the vet to get checked out.
