My cat has breathing issues. Is brimstone safe for lung cleaning?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 6 years and 9 months old

I posted about my dehydrated cat,he had huge abscess inside,no open wound, the vet cleaned it,but the reason for it came out after day,I found something under his skin and the vet found he has been shot, now he will pull out the shot, but my cat has breathing difficulty, the vet says it's not from the shot it's from the dehydration which damaged his lungs,he says I have to give him brimstone to clean his lungs,is that safe for cats and is there something else which I can give him to clean his lungs

Hi, I'm sorry to hear that Melcho is unwell. Maybe the details got lost in translation, but brimstone, also known as sulphur is a pretty toxic element. I was thinking about what you might mean instead, it could possibly be sulphonamide antibiotics? Am I correct? If so, then they may be used to treat pneumonia. It also sounds like the shot may have caused the abscess. I hope Melcho feels better soon.
