GSD puppy's nasal infection: How long until clindamycin works?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 21 days old | 22.5 lbs

Hi I have a 3 month old German Shepard and he has already been seen for nasal infection and is being treated with clyndamison drops 2 drops twice a day and his nose is still really inflamed and swollen he has only been on the meds since Saturday. How long until he should be getting better doctor also gave a shot of clyndomyson

Hi it may be best to confirm the dose of clindamycin with your vet and how it should be administered. Two drops seems like a small amount for a 20lb dog, but maybe you have a very concentrated version of the drug. The speed at which it resolved the sore nose is directly related to the severity of the lesion. It is hard for me to comment without examining Conan.

    You should see improvement in 4-5 days. If not working more tests should be ideally performed (nasal swab) as the infection could be caused by other sources like fungi for example.
