My diabetic cat is hiding and pooping outside the box. Should I worry?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 9 years and 5 months old | 14 lbs

My diabetic cat is hiding under the bed off and on for the last couple of days. He has also pooped in inapproriate places twice in the last couple of weeks. He normally hides under the bed during thunder storms. The temperature is very warm and our a/c is broken. Given his symtoms and the environment should I have conceerns.

Hello! Cats tend to have very subtle signs of illness, so things like hiding under the bed (if abnormal) and peeing or pooping outside the litter box can be signs that Quinn is not feeling well. I recommend having him examined by your vet, and have blood work done. Your vet will check to see if his diabetes is under control, whether he has a urinary tract infection, or if he is experiencing some other kind of illness. Hope this helps!
