My dog has brittle nails and one split, quick exposed. What to do?

My dog has brittle nails, she split one completely, bottom part of nail seperated and top is only attached by a tad bit of nail. Whole quik is exposed. Do I take the nail off the rest of the way and keep it clean or just let it fester and fall off? Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed

You could probably cut the rest of the nail, assuming you can do so without cutting the quick. However these can become infected and painful so if Diamond ask painful, won't use that paw, or it gets swollen and or red she needs to see a veterinarian.
