My dog is limping on her back leg. Should I wrap it or see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 2 months old | 85 lbs

My big golden girl has been limping on her back right leg and she isn't giving any clue you where the pain is coming from in the leg. What really started to make me realize that its really hurting her is when she refused to jump up on my relatively low bed. I have quite a bit if experience wrapping up injuries but I'm not sure where or how to wrap it, or if I even should.

We don't typically wrap legs in dogs who are limping unless we know the cause. It would be important to localize the pain to help determine if it is a soft tissue injury, a torn ligament, or a broken bone. A good physical exam and radiographs can really help determine how to treat Tallulah. Make an appointment with your regular veterinarian soon to help figure it out.
