Why is my Cockerpoo still struggling to breathe after vet visits?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Cocker Spaniel | Male | neutered | 34 lbs

My Cockerpoo is 4 and is having a nasal issue. I have taken him to 2 vets and still no signs of him getting better. He's been on meds but it looks like there is skin blocking one of his nasal passages and is having a hard time breathing. They are saying it could be an infection, tumor or one more thing I can't remember. He's on antibotics but he's not getting better. It's sounds like his nose is stopped up. Any advice. I'm reading if I use castor oil that might kill whatever is there in his nose

Hi. If he isn't improving, I would recommend getting another opinion. You mentioned a possible tumor, and that could be possible. The way they would determine that is by scoping the nasal cavities. I would get him in again.
