My cat won't eat her wet food after a few days. Should I change flavors?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 2 years and 5 months old | 8.5 lbs

My cat will only eat her canned food for a couple days. She will eat most of her food for a couple days then won't even touch it. Should I change flavors? She cries for her wet food and I feel bad that she doesn't like it, thankfully she still eats her dry food.

Hi. I wouldn't change up the flavors regularly as that can cause GI distress. She will learn that when she cries for the wet food, and you put it there, that's what she gets. Sometimes warming it up on a paper plate for a few seconds helps release the smells and flavor. You can try that too.
