My dog is sore. Can I give him human or OTC pain medication?

Banjo is currently under a vets care for a fall he sustained on our front stairs. He was prescribed tramadol and onisor for 6 days, he is on his 4th. Due to finances i am unable to continue paying $120 every 6 days for the medication. What over the counter or human medications can i give him for the soreness and stiffness? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 4 years and 5 months old | 23 lbs

Unfortunately there are no over the counter pain medications that are safe for dogs. I would recommend discussing with your veterinarian if there is something you can switch him to that is more cost effective and still approved for use in dogs. You can also check into online pharmacies or box stores (such as Costco) that offer pet medications at a lower price.
